Job Duties: -Prepares and cooks food according to restaurant guidelines and with urgency -Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, and carving meats. -Prepares foods by operating variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruit and vegetable, and trimming and cutting meats, poultry or fish for culinary use. -Tastes products, reads menus, reads food estimates, checks production, and keeps record to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment -Clearly communicates with management and other staff members to ensure kitchen operations are running smoothly -Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times -Assisting in daily kitchen operations wherever necessary. Including but not limited to running food orders to customers, washing dishes, cleaning kitchen work stations, maintaining a clean work environment Qualifications: -Ability to be a team player that is cool under pressure, has positive energy, maintain a sense of urgency while working to perform a variety of assigned tasks with little supervision from management. -Ability to follow oral and written directions -Ability to work well with others in a team environment and perform a variety of assigned tasks with little supervision by management -MUST have a current food handlers card -Able to learn quickly -Minimum 1 year experience fast-paced kitchen -Capable of learning operation of equipment, tools and food preparation tasks properly and repetitively -Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills -Ability to take proper safety measures and knowledge of proper food handing -Able to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 50lbs.
